That’s right. Tucked away amidst our quaint German community is one of the most bustling wine industries in the country. With over 30 vineyards and wineries in Fredericksburg and the surrounding Hill Country we’re becoming the new hotbed for oenophiles. Like our wildflowers, award-winning wineries have taken root along Highway 290 offering wine tours, tastings and events galore.
Where wine is a pleasure, not a party – taste our award winning wines with over 200 medals in just the last two years. Tour our beautiful 100-acre estate, winery and romantic Tuscan Villa tasting rooms and restaurant nestled among the oaks and vines in Fredericksburg Texas.
It all began over 20 years ago when Bill and Patty Sutherland sold all of their belongings and moved to Tuscany. Finding their true passion for adventure, they landed in a place of serene beauty and endless delights. Today, you can come to the Andreucci Wines Tasting Room and enjoy Tuscan wine, shipped directly from their favorite vintners in Italy.
Baron's Creek Vineyards
For each brother, the dream is different: one imagines a bountiful vineyard, another sees a gathering place for friends and family, while the last looks forward to new and lasting memories created nightly. These three dreams have become the collective vision that would make the father smile. Please join Mike, Chris, and Marc Chase at Barons Creek Vineyards and allow each brother’s vision to become a part of your experience. Winemaker D. Russell Smith, formerly of Becker Vineyards from 1999 to 2012, has created a stunning selection of wine in the Texas Hill Country. We hope you’ll make a trip to Fredericksburg, Texas during your winery tours.
Becker Vineyards’ winery is a 10,000 square foot reproduction of a late 19th century German stone barn, a style prevalent in the Texas Hill Country. Since first opening in 1996, two winery expansions have taken place to accommodate 74 tanks and over 2,000 barrels.
Re-live the past and, at the same time, enjoy the beauty of the present. Did you ever notice that when you leave your everyday surroundings, you change the way you think? Refreshing, isn’t it. When you visit Fredericksburg, you visit a town, not created for tourists, but certainly enjoyed by tourists.
This rare kind of place is becoming more unique every day. It is a community that has survived hardships, has given life to generations of strong citizens and leaders, and has grown and prospered within the most beautiful part of our great state of Texas.
