You can see how early Fredericksburg settlers lived, Old West cowboys worked, how our heroic men and women of the Pacific War fought for our country and where our 36th President lived. Most of the museums hold events appropriate for the whole family throughout the year. But before you do, make sure to book your next stay in one of our vacation rentals, so you can enjoy all of Texas!

National Museum of the pacific war

On the battlefield and on the home front, ordinary Americans took up the challenge to turn back the greatest threat to freedom and democracy of the 20th century. Their achievement is the story of the National Museum of the Pacific War told through artifacts, advanced media, custom animations and stunning film and photography of the day. The complex, located in downtown Fredericksburg, includes three museums with 45,000 square feet of exhibit space and lessons that will last a lifetime.

LBJ Ranch

President Johnson had a deep attachment for place and heritage. The LBJ Ranch was where he was born, lived, died, and was buried. After the President’s death in 1973, Mrs. Johnson continued to live at the Ranch part time until her death in 2007.

Visitors are now able to tour the Ranch at their own pace in their private vehicle with the ability to stop at sites along the way such as the President’s birthplace, Johnson family cemetery, and the Johnson’s ranch house known as the Texas White House.
