The Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is known for its massive pink granite dome, interesting rock formations, and family friendly hiking trails. Families come here to explore nature and to enjoy interesting features such as the Enchanted Rock Cave. Upon arrival to the park, the first thing you’ll likely notice is the large dome of pink-hued granite rising from the earth. Breathtaking views and hidden gems await at the peak for those who are willing to take on the challenge, but first you’ll have to put in some effort to get there.
To reach the Enchanted Rock Cave, you’ll first need to ascend the granite dome. The 0.67-mile Enchanted Rock Summit Trail will to lead you to an elevation of 1823 feet at the dome’s peak. Once you’ve arrived at the summit, continue on to top of the rock, and then to the back side of the dome. There you will discover a cave opening. Bring along your headlamp to explore further inside, where you can follow spray painted arrows through tight spaces as you explore the cave’s interior. Once you’ve had your fill of adventure, return the way you came to descend back down the Summit Trail.
