We take food very seriously here in Texas’ Hill Country. The charming town of Fredericksburg might be small, but it offers an incredible array of quality restaurants, authentic barbecue joints, and even innovative sushi bars. Step off the quaint main street and its cafés and watering holes and you’ll find the rolling hills stitched in green with the weaving vines of more than 30 vineyards, each churning at delicious varietals more refreshing than the last. While you will certainly get a taste of our delicious local cuisine and regionally-inspired fare during your stay at Absolute Charm’s vacation rentals, the best way to try everything is at one of the many Fredericksburg food festivals.

Food Truck Festival

One of the highlights of the Fredericksburg food festivals is the Hill Country Food Truck Festival in Luckenbach, TX. This year the 5th annual event on June 23, 2018 promises to be even better, with live entertainment from noon to 9pm. Come enjoy the fabulous eats from a dozen local food truck favorites, sample delicious local wines, and cool off under the big Texas sky with a cold beer and hot music. Tickets are $15 for adults, kids 12 and under are free.

Independence Day Chili Cook-Off in the Fredericksburg Food Festivals

What better way to celebrate America’s birthday than with one of Texas’ most beloved dishes: chili. Chefs and amateur hopefuls from across the state will gather to submit their best recipes in this fun fundraiser held on Wednesday, July 4 at the Becker Vineyards in Fredericksburg. Tickets are $5 for 6 chili samples, with tasting beginning at 11am. This year salsa entries will be judged as well, meaning all the more ways for you to feel the heat this Independence Day during one of the many Fredericksburg food festivals.

Food and Wine Fest

The crown jewel of food festivals in Fredericksburg is the Food and Wine Festival October 27, 2018. Held in the charming and historic downtown district, this all-day affair is a full-course celebration of Texas’ cookin’. Stroll the town and sample regional favorites, innovative takes on classic recipes, and specialty booths offering up local treats, wines, and beers. General admission tickets are $25 with all proceeds going to the Market Square Improvement Project. Foodies won’t want to miss the special events like the Grape Expectations Cooking School, the Texan Dinner (Oct. 25), the Celebration Dinner (Oct. 26), or the Patron Party (Oct. 27), which promise incredible menus, plenty of spirits, and a great time (separate advance tickets required).
