Aunt Violet's B&B has long been a Fredericksburg tradition. Located only six blocks from the Main Street shopping district, this lovely compound consists of a spacious 2 bedroom suite in the 1913 main house, plus two separate private log cabins in the back yard, and Althea House, a charming private Victorian cottage.
The first log cabin, #1, is called the Larkspur Cabin. Created from antique timber, you will feel as if you have stepped back in time as you cross its expansive front porch, complete with rockers of course! Though the cabins is rooted in history, you will most enjoy its modern day luxuries! Enjoy the comfortable den with gas fireplace and cable TV, plus a mini-kitchen with microwave, mini-fridge and seating area. Downstairs you will find a secondary bedroom with two twin beds plus you spacious bathroom with large shower. In the upstairs loft, however, you will find the key to Larkspur's popularity.....a beautiful corner whirlpool tub for two that is open to the romantic bedroom with queen size bed.
Soak your cares away in the bubbles of the decadent whirlpool. In today's hectic world, who couldn't use a little alone time? These cabins have got it all, and so close to Main Street! Check In Instructions & Directions:
Check in is at 709 West Main Street, which is a beautiful historic rock building right on Main Street on the west end of town. The sign in the yard says both "Tea Rose Quilts and Gifts" and "Bed and Breakfast Reservations". Look for the five king sized quilts prominently displayed in the yard; you can't miss us! Just park in front and come on in!
If arriving after 6:00 p.m. (or 5:00 p.m. on Sunday), you will find a box on the front porch containing an envelope with your name, map, receipt and keys to your suite/cottage. We look forward to seeing you soon!
For your protection and ours, we ask that ALL cancellations be made in writing. Simply respond to this confirmation and request your reservation to be cancelled. Your cancellation request will be handled in one of the two following ways:
Any cancellation made 10 days or more in advance of your arrival will only be charged a $35.00 cancellation fee per suite/property. The deposit you made at the time of the reservation (minus this cancellation fee) will be refunded to the same credit card we originally charged.
If you cancel your reservation fewer than 10 days before your scheduled arrival, a $35.00 cancellation fee will be added AND the remaining balance will be charged to the card on file. If someone else reserves the room for the same night(s) that you have reserved, your card will be refunded all monies paid minus the $35.00 re-booking fee. If you have purchased travel insurance you may submit a claim to Travel Guard for the amount you are responsible for in the event of a cancellation within 10 days of your arrival.
We will email you a Cancellation Notice for your records once your request has been processed.
Packages / Spa Cancellation Policy:
Pampering Packages or Massages must be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance or you will be charged the full amount. Please help us respect our vendors by giving ample notice should you need to cancel.
Group Reservations Policy:
We are often asked if we offer discounts for groups who book all of one property. We do not offer such discounts, and in fact, we are sad to say we have had a lot of problems with groups in the past. More times than not, when groups have rented the entire Inn on the Creek, Queen Anne, etc., guests have actually taken food from our chef's refrigerator that was intended for the next morning's breakfast and have said, "Sorry, we raided the fridge last night; but we wanted a snack!" or "We looked around and found your candy stash and ate it all!" Groups almost always drink heavily and leave liquor bottles all over the property leaving our housekeeping team with double or triple the normal housekeeping load. It may seem that renting the entire building is "doing us a favor," but we almost never have a vacancy on a weekend and would have rented each room regardless. Accordingly, we expect groups to behave as individual guests do. We welcome respectful groups but are not looking to book these fine propeties to partiers. Please feel free to enjoy the full use of the facilities, enjoy the hot tubs, play cards in the common areas, etc. However, we ask that you treat these historic properties, not to mention our wonderful chefs, with the respect they deserve. If items are taken from the refrigerator, furniture moved throughout the property, excessive trash left around the premises, etc. a minimum charge of $50.00 per room will be charged to each member of the group's credit card. If items are broken or otherwise destroyed, the charge will be more than $50.00.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Money Orders, Cash and Absolute Charm Gift Certificates purchased from Absolute Charm. You will be required to hold your reservations with a credit card deposit. Your credit card will be charged upon check-in. If you are arriving after 5:00 p.m. (4:00 on Sundays) your card will be charged the balance and your receipt placed in your envelope with your map and key.
Your payment and personal informatino is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.
Quoted are for single/double occupancy including breakfast. Applicable taxes will be added to the rates quoted. Additional persons beyond 2 will be charged $35 per person per night in accordance with what each property lists on its description page.

Taxes and Fees:
The State of Texas and City of Fredericksburg impose 13% lodging tax on every stay. In addition, Absolute Charm charges and retains a 3% fee in exchange for the services we provide in facilitating your transaction. There is no additional fee for booking your reservation by phone versus booking online.
Will be provided at each property in accordance with what is listed on that property's page. Please check the property's page for information on the breakfast you will receive.
We do not allow:
Moving from room to room for purposes of determining the length of your stay. For example, if you stay one night in one room and then move to another room that does not qualify as a two-night stay for purposes of receiving a weekday discount. As you can imagine, housekeeping costs skyrocket when rooms have to be completely cleaned from scratch daily. If you would like to move rooms during the week, you may do so but will NOT receive the weekday special price. If you choose to move rooms on a weekend due to your preference, you may only do so with a $35.00 per move fee to cover additional housekeeping costs.
Smoking is limited to outside only. A $200 cleaning fee will be added to your bill if you smoke inside the room.
Hot Tub Rules:
If you leave the lid up or off after you leave the hot tub, the tub will fill with leaves and debris and will need to be completely drained.
If the weather is hot, guests often choose to lower the temperature while they are in the tub. That is fine, but you MUST raise the temperature when you leave as the tub cannot stay below 98/99 degrees for long (body temperature) before bacteria begins to grow.
NEVER, ever put any type of bubble bath or oils in the hot tub. The tub makes bubbles via the jets. Oils or bubble bath will cause the tub to have to be drained immediately.
Finally, PLEASE remove all makeup and body lotions/oils before entering the tub as well so it will stay clean and nice for everyone. A layer of disagreeable scum will appear in the tub if you enter it wearing makeup and/or oils.
A $75.00 hot tub cleaning fee will be imposed if these rules are broken and we have to drain the hot tub during or immediately after your stay. We do not want to do this, so please help us keep the hot tub nice for everyone.
Bedwetting and Other Damage Fee: If you bring children, or anyone, who wet the bed there will be a $50.00 fee per bed which has been wet. Also if sheets are ruined by spilling wine, coffee, blood, etc. on them a $50.00 fee will be charged to cover a portion of the cost to replace each set of sheets ruined. This type of destructive behavior should not be passed on to our legions of well-behaved delightful guests. Thanks for your understanding.
Children and pets are allowed at some of our properties, but only if it is specifically mentioned on that room's page and on the Amenities<Pets page from the top tool bar. Please call us if you need guidance on which rooms will allow children and/or pets. There is a $35.00 per pet per night fee at each property. This fee covers standard cleaning up after your pet(s). If your pet(s) cause any damage to the room or its furnishings, you will be charged the cost of the damages incurred. The fee for bringing an undisclosed pet is $200. No exceptions.
Children, if allowed (see above), ages 4 and under are free and accordingly will not receive breakfast. Children ages 5 years and older will be charged at the adult rate of $35 per person and will be provided with breakfast.
Lost Items: If you leave items in your room, give us a call and we will gladly send the items to you via US Postal Service via priority mail or overnight service...your choice. You will be charged the exact amount the Postal Service charges PLUS a $10.00 handling fee to cover employee time. Items not claimed within two weeks will be donated to charity.
No split bills! If you are sharing the fees for a room or rooms, please put the charges on one person's card and split the bill among yourselves. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but there is no time to divide fees and process several cards at the time of check-in.
Candles Not Allowed: Please Note: For your safety and the safety of all our guests, absolutely no candles are permitted to be used on any of our properties.
