Suite Elizabeth is an enormous suite in "the most beautiful home in Fredericksburg"... the Victorian Mansion. The Mansion was built in 1910 as an elaborate wedding gift for Joe and Ella Stein. Joe's father, Franz Stein, owned the lumber company in town which probably explains the home's elaborate gingerbread trim, moldings and beautiful wood floors. In 1999 the Mansion was restored to its former glory and a few years later underwent a significant expansion bringing the total square footage to 6000 square feet.
The Mansion is home to four completely private suites with private outside entrances and no shared common areas other than the grounds. Suite Elizabeth is the largest of the suites and is ideal for two couples (or two friends) traveling together to share or for those who just prefer the luxury of a little elbow room! The suite offers two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with a queen size bed and a bath with tub/shower combination in between. Suite Elizabeth also includes a large, comfortable family room with big screen television, ample seating and a beautiful breakfast area with original hardwood floors and tiger oak built-in hutch. Guests enjoy private access to the nostalgic wrap-around porch, perfect for morning coffee. Sit on the front porch swing and listen to the doves coo!
The Mansion is conveniently located just 2-3 blocks from Main Street and Marktplatz where Fredericksburg's many festivals are held. Enjoy an evening stroll to Main Street where you can do some window shopping or stop into one of Fredericksburg's famed bier gartens. Then head back to the Mansion for a long soak in the huge hot tub available only for use by the four suites in the main house. Guests of Suite Elizabeth return time and time again to admire her beauty, comfort, convenience, and value!
