Step back into a world of peace and quiet. Located only 5 minute from Main Street Fredericksburg, this 1874 German stone home has stood the test of time. It stands strong and silent offering comfort as well as adventure on the surrounding 47 acres. The house was abandoned for over 80 years with never any electricity or indoor plumbing. It was lovingly restored from 2007 to 2010 and stands today as a gracious reminder the original German settlers found so appealing. The original stone walls of the home have remained solid, and the quality materials from which the home was constructed have endured the test of time.
Guests will find everything they need for a restful getaway at Valentine Hill. The house is fully equipped for entertaining, and the fire pit on the open terrace with wonderful views begs for a leisurely evening....perhaps grilling on the large Jenn-Air grill? If you are a fisherman, you can cook your catch of the day from our own stretch of Palo Alto Creek. The year round creek is full of bass, catfish and crappie. Bring your own gear and prepare for a fantastic Hill Country Adventure!
As if the outdoor entertaining spaces were not enough, the stone house itself is a veritable oasis. Downstairs you will find a comfortable den with rock fireplace, full kitchen and dining area. You will also find the large master bedroom with king size bed and large bathroom with a huge shower. Upstairs (note: the stairs are original and VERY steep) you will find a large open bedroom loft which holds a queen bed and two twin beds with trundle underneath. This large open room upstairs will accommodate up to six guests in addition to the two who may stay downstairs. This great house is as perfect for a romantic getaway for two as it as a family getaway for up to eight guests. Valentine Hill is really something special.
