Along Shady Creek was originally purchased in 1872 by Christian Crenwelge at a sheriff's sale for the grand sum of $5.25. Crenwelge operated a molasses press here and later built this original Victorian style Sunday House in 1903. Located on the most scenic street in Fredericksburg and a tourist attraction for decades, the Sunday House offers the ideal bed and breakfast experience. The original long-leaf pine floors and antique queen bed are in keeping with the rich German history of this historically significant home. An antique French buffet, understated gate leg table, large armoire, and the marble-topped bedside and coffee table invite you to retreat to a bygone era when the Crenwelges built this home.
