Thank you for all that you do for couples that need a couple of nights away from the busy life that we lead. You both bring so much joy and happiness into each couple that stays here. I am a country girl so I felt in a way that I was coming back to my roots. Thank you for all the wonderful memories. We will be back soon. God Bless you both.

Wow! Where do we start? This was our fifth time in Fredericksburg at a B&B. This was by far the best B&B! Breakfast was superb; The Pear Tree cottage was great. Thanks for the dining recommendations in town….Fredericksburg Pie, The Cotton Gin, and then our favorite "Pasta Bella". We'll be back, count on that! Take care.

One of the best B&B experiences we've ever had. Almost felt like staying with family because you could be yourself while hanging around the house and Cantina. Sam you are one of a kind, which we could use a few more of. We'll definitely be back soon.

The Chuckwagon Inn is owned by Sam and Becky Higgins, and, well, you just don't get any more Texas than Sam and Becky! Not only are they Texas icons, they are also gourmet cooks and fabulous hosts. The pair have won numerous awards and blue ribbons at the State Fair of Texas for their cooking endeavors and have written three cookbooks including the knee-slapper, I'm Glad I Ate When I Did, 'Cause I'm Not Hungry Now. The Inn and its illustrious hosts have been featured in many magazines including Southern Living, Travel & Leisure, Texas Monthly, Bon Appetit and Food & Wine. They have also been featured many times in newspapers throughout the country, including the Chicago Sun Times, Dallas Morning News, Rocky Mountain News, San Francisco Chronicle, Austin American Statesman and San Antonio Express News.
Their charming inn is located on 10 meticulously landscaped acres only three minutes from Main Street and offers 5 unique private accommodations....each of which boasts a king size bed, jacuzzi tub, gas fireplace, and amazing gourmet breakfast daily. The whole inn will accommodate 10 adults very comfortably…but if you want the whole place to yourselves, book early as the Chuckwagon is a Fredericksburg landmark! Read on for more information on one of their 5 amazing cabins....Pear Tree Suite.
Perhaps the prettiest suite at Chuckwagon Inn, Pear Tree Suite is a delight in sage, cream, and other delicious pastels. You will enjoy a comfortable sitting area and kitchenette plus a gas fireplace, cable TV, DVD player and more. A romantic king size canopy bed is the focal point of this delightful suite, but giving it some tough competition is a private bath with a huge jacuzzi tub for two with shower! After a full day hitting the local shops or wineries, come back for a long soak or read a good book by firelight.
You will surely be delighted by your private patio, perfect for taking in an evening sunset. Be sure to keep an eye out for "pet" roadrunner Lee Roy! Stroll over to Sam's covered cantina and enjoy some down home conversation and a drink. You'll always feel like family at the Chuckwagon Inn.....while still maintaining that much sought-after privacy.
The best treat of all at this little piece of heaven may be the fabulous gourmet breakfast you will enjoy each morning in the dining room. Sam and Becky make each meal something to remember! Your breakfast might feature goodies such as homemade- light as a feather- buttermilk biscuits, caramel pecan rolls, hill country sausages and bacon, omelets, freshly ground coffee and many other Texas style treats. You can bet, you will never leave the table hungry!
